The Extension Master GardenerSM Association of Rowan County (Rowan Master Gardeners) works in partnership with the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Rowan County Center. Rowan Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who provide sound, practical, research-based information to county residents about their home horticulture. All volunteers receive 40 hours of horticultural classes and provide 40 hours of volunteer community service through the Extension office.
While the Rowan Master Gardeners have been a high-functioning organization since its founding in 1998, the Association became a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization in 2023 with the mission to promote gardening and home horticulture through education, environmental stewardship, and volunteerism.
