The Extension Master Gardener(SM) Association of Rowan County is planting the seeds of something truly transformative — a two-acre teaching garden and demonstration greenhouse. Designed for experiential learning, the Gardens and Greenhouse will offer a variety of spaces to teach our community ways to improve their wellbeing through nature.
Imagine winding paths through vibrant beds of vegetables, fruit trees heavy with harvest, pollinator-friendly blooms, and a large greenhouse where students, families, and gardeners of all ages can learn hands-on skills that empower them to grow food at their own homes and care for the earth.
This space will offer:
- Fresh produce and fruit to sample and learn how each grows
- Educational programs for children, adults, and aspiring gardeners
- A teaching greenhouse to experience plants growing from seed and propagation
- A demonstration pergola area for shaded hands-on learning
- Accessible paths and gathering spaces for all to enjoy
